Colombia. Pacaribe, provider of the public cleaning service in Cartagena, has implemented a special containerization plan since last March in the historic area, in order to optimize collection times and encourage the good disposal of waste to avoid affecting public space and the generation of pollution sources.
So far, Pacaribe has delivered 217 containers free of charge to users in the historic center. The containers have a collection capacity of 240, 770 and 1100 liters. With these deliveries, users are invited to take their bags of waste to the containers in order to avoid accumulation of garbage in the public space. It is important to clarify that debris, wood or any kind of bulky waste should not be disposed of in these containers to ensure their proper use and handling.
"From Pacaribe we continue to build pleasant spaces for our inhabitants and tourists. As Guardians of the Environment, we invite everyone to make proper use of these containers and take care of them so that, together, we have our beautiful and clean Cartagena, "said Andrés Gaitán, manager of Pacaribe.
This work that began in March in the historic center, will extend until the month of May, contemplates a second phase for the neighborhoods of Bocagrande, Laguito and Castillogrande and is executed within the usual containerization program of the company, which was implemented 6 years ago and since then has managed to deliver more than 6000 containers in different areas of the city.
With the implementation of this plan, the company contributes to the eradication of garbage trails and the generation of pollution sources in sectors of great affluence and tourist interest, as well as supporting the economic reactivation of the city.
