Girbau collaborated with Lavandería Tecnológico del Uruguay in a project that allowed the Uruguayan company to have the first washing tunnel in the country. All this has been a challenge for Girbau since, as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, the company has had to adapt and carry out much of the work remotely, through weekly online visits with architects and site managers to review all the progress.

Thus, with the installation of this Tunnel, TBS 50/12 HYGIEN, Lavandería Tecnológica del Uruguay, a newly created company, has been able to open its doors with a pioneering and avant-garde installation in technology and innovation, unique in the country, to offer its customers a quality of washing with a high standard of cleaning and disinfection according to the demand and current needs of the market. The TBS-50 washing system from Girbau includes all the equipment required for continuous washing, with the advantages of synchronization, programming and management that means working with equipment from a single supplier. This tunnel incorporates an integrated water recirculation and recycling system, which allows it to be used up to three times, which reduces water and energy consumption.

The transfer of the load is carried out through a central mouth by rotating the drum which avoids any risk of jamming. In addition, there are different sensors that continuously self-check, and allow to confirm that all the conditions for a correct transfer are being met. Another factor that stands out from this team is its flexibility. All tunnel modules are identical and can include water and chemical inlets, drains, pH and temperature probes. The flexibility of configuration of the process allows to have a washing tunnel that covers all the needs of the client, both present and future.
