Brazil. Essity officially announced plans to invest more than $19 million in its production facilities in the town of Jarinu, located in the State of Sao Paulo.
The expansion project will more than double the production capacities at the Jarinu factory. Essity has targeted Brazil as a growth region, tripling the size of its commercial projects in the country over the past five years, Nonwovens Industry reported.
"We are committed to the continued development of the country," said Victor Hernandez, Essity's vice president of sales and marketing for the company's LATAM South region. "The expansion in Jarinu reinforces our belief in the Brazilian market and in Essity's ability to innovate to meet the ever-evolving needs of consumers."
"We have managed to triple the size of our business in the last five years. As for products for urinary incontinence in adults, the growth increased fivefold in the same period," he adds. "This expansion reinforces our position as a global leader in the hygiene and health market, as well as strengthening our commitment to breaking down barriers to ensure the quality of life of the population."
