Colombia. The Bogotá Supply Corporation, Corabastos, chose the company Interaseo for a new stage in waste management in the most important food collection center in the country.
Corabastos receives every day more than 25 thousand tons of food, which enter daily in about 14 thousand trucks and that are distributed in Bogotá and about half of the country.
During the next 15 years, Interaseo will be in charge of the solid waste management processes that occur in the 45 hectares that make up Corabastos, where 57 warehouses operate and between 80 and 120 thousand people are mobilized every day, between merchants and users.
Interaseo arrives in Corabastos with the generation of 120 direct jobs and a complete type of equipment, among which stand out:
- 2 x 25-yard compactor
- 4 self-compacting boxes
- 2 Amplirolls
- 17 thrust sweepers
- 1 Mechanical sweeper
- 2 Bobcat skid steer loaders
- 130 Barcelona type baskets
- 600 containers of 1,100 liters
- Sweeping implements for each operator
"With the arrival of Interaseo to Corabastos, a new era of a modern containerized system begins in such an important wholesale center, as is the fact of guaranteeing that the new containers will not generate traces of leachate. In addition, there will be a waste classification center to incorporate into production cycles, which seeks that not all waste is disposed of, but, through use processes, it is possible to return to the earth fertilizers that serve to improve productivity, "said the Manager of the Regional Cundinamarca of Interaseo, Engineer José Ricardo Trujillo Tobar.
