International. Within the framework of World Cleaning Day, the company Ndavant presented the incorporation of new technologies for hospital cleaning in Catalonia. Among the centres where they are already implemented are the Vall d'Hebron Hospital, the Hospital Clínic de Barcelona, the Bellvitge University Hospital and the Duran i Reynals Hospital.

Significant progress has been the use of autonomous robots to clean wide areas.   These equipment, which can clean and sweep simultaneously, operate on scheduled routes and allow workers to focus on disinfecting sensitive areas.

In addition, Ndavant incorporated the use of ionized water as a substitute for traditional chemicals.  This resource is used, for example, to clean windows in high places with electric telescopic hangers, whose purpose is to reduce the use of chemical products in hospital areas.

Another tool presented was GlowCheck, a visual control system that uses invisible markers detectable with ultraviolet light to verify the correct cleaning and disinfection of surfaces. In hospitals such as the Germans Trias i Pujol University and Bellvitge Hospitals, this method is already used.

"The GlowCheck method allows us to verify, objectively and with traceability, that the cleaning of surfaces has been carried out correctly and according to the established protocols. It is a key tool to guarantee safe spaces for patients and healthcare staff, and reinforces confidence in the quality of the service," explained Araceli Nicolich, Ndavant quality technician at Bellvitge Hospital.

These technologies, which are being implemented in leading hospitals in Catalonia, have the potential to become examples for the creation of similar solutions in other nations, including Latin America, where health systems face increasing challenges in terms of operational efficiency and hospital disinfection.
